California Proposition 65

California's Proposition 65 entitles California consumers to special warnings for products that contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm if those products expose consumers to such chemicals above certain threshold levels. Some manufacturers may have a warning on their luggage, briefcase, or gift collections with regard to Proposition 65. You will see this warning on collections from most brands.

The general Proposition 65 notice says that some products in the luggage and/or briefcase category contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Products made of fabric, leather, vinyl, foam or synthetic and non-woven material can contain some of these chemicals on the list of hazardous substances. Mandated by the State of California Proposition 65, the following warning label must appear on products sold in California if they contain chemicals on the Proposition 65 list of hazardous chemicals.

WARNING: Product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm.

While we believe that all the products we sell are in full compliance with federal laws for product safety, the list of chemicals covered by Proposition 65 exceeds 850 chemicals. As there are many chemicals used throughout manufacturing, some products may have a trace amount of some of the chemicals on the California Proposition 65 warning list. You can see the complete list of products that are on the proposition 65 warning list on p65warnings.ca.gov or oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65/.
