What Travel Accessories Should I Pack?
October 31st, 2009Since you need room in your luggage for clothes, you cannot pack every type of travel accessory! You need to decide what makes your travel experience easier, more comfortable, and safer. If you are leaving the country, there are some items that are almost necessities rather than travel accessories. Converters and adapters are needed if you bring along electrical appliances such as ipods, digital camera, hair dryer, iron, steamer, travel coffee maker, electric toothbrush, razor, etc. You can purchase international travel appliances that would eliminate the need for a converter, but you do need adapters depending on the country. The converter changes the electricity when you want to bring an appliance from home that is not international or dual voltage. Money belts that secure your extra cash, your passport, and your return ticket home, are also a good idea in many destinations. They keep your valuables secure underneath your clothing. Travel alarm clocks are usually one of the most popular travel items to pack. You don’t want to miss your flight or an important meeting. Money exchangers are not as important as they once were, but many travelers still feel more comfortable carrying one. Language translators are always a good idea when you traveling somewhere that you do not know the language at all. There are talking versions that are very easy to use. If coffee when you immediately wake is important, a travel coffee maker or heater for instant coffee is necessary. Many ladies will only travel with their hair dryer and/or a flat iron. Often hotel hair dryers are not powerful enough for long hair. The flat irons or hair straighteners have to be the international type to use overseas. Shoe covers and packing cubes make your packing more organized and easier. The packing cubes will go directly you’re your luggage into hotel drawers. They will also keep your clothing neat if security goes through your luggage. Travel umbrellas and raincoats will keep you from getting wet in inclement weather. Since many airlines have new lower weight restrictions on luggage, the travel scale has become one of the most important travel accessories. These will weigh your luggage coming and going.
